The Parent Council at Cambridge Academy Ethiopia is a body of parents, representing parents, run by parents with the support of the school. The Parent Council provides an excellent forum for parents to come together, share ideas, and put forward their views to the Principal and Board of Trustees. Cambridge Academy Ethiopia looks to the Parent Council to break down barriers, perceived or actual, between the school and parents who are less involved in the school.
The Parent Council serves two distinct but related purposes:
- To give parents a voice and increase their active involvement in decision-making, fostering a culture of ownership and participation.
- To develop a partnership between the school and parents in order to support and promote the pupils’ learning and bring about change.
The Parent Council has an advisory and consultative role.
