Our School Overview
The curriculum at Cambridge Academy Ethiopia has a clear rationale. It is wide ranging, age appropriate and balanced and sharply focused on the development of both knowledge and skills. The school offers an enriched version of the National Curriculum for England, adapted to local requirements and to the needs of Ethiopian and expatriate students. There is comprehensive planning for progression in all subjects to ensure continuity of learning through each Key Stage including the selection of iGCSE options and A Level options; students are fully prepared for the next phase of education within school and beyond. Enrichment opportunities significantly enhance learning. Cross-curricular links are promoted, carefully planned, and professionally managed. The curriculum at all stages provides excellent opportunities for hands on learning, independent learning, creativity, research, and critical thinking.
The curriculum is reviewed frequently and developed systematically to ensure that there is high quality provision of all subjects and to meet the academic and personal development needs of all students especially SEN, EAL, gifted and talented and Ethiopian learners.
